One of my favourite portraits of Shantell, published in the Toronto Star. More photos in the online edition: http://www.thestar.com/life/fashion_style/2015/12/05/for-toronto-launch-saks-lets-artist-shantell-martin-draw-on-the-walls-field-notes.html
A couple years ago, I attended the Mad River Rocks music festival and met the gorgeous Rekha Patel, a Toronto-based singer-songwriter with a voice that flows like sweet, sweet honayyy. We reconnected a bit after that in a swampy marshland, where I grabbed a few summery sunset shots for her EP cover, The Heart Line. I don't know about you, but I'm pretty happy with how this fits in with the design. Looks great!
But seriously, take some time out of your day and check out Rekha's The Heart Line, now back on iTunes with an added bonus track.
I was recently commissioned by Open Skies (Emirates Airline's in-flight magazine) to document Toronto's Spadina Avenue for their June issue, and I couldn't have been more excited!
I've taken a lot of flights in my time, and no matter how silly or drab the content, I always read the in-flights from cover to cover, only because there's not much else to do when you're stuck 30,000 feet in the air for 5 hours without a wifi connection. So pardon the giddiness, but personally, this is some seriously happy-making stuff right here for this travellin'/explorin' gal.
Check out the online issue here.
